About Me
My interest in nutrition and wellness began early, though my understanding of what “healthy” meant took many years to evolve. Like many people, my introduction to nutrition was shaped by diet culture—low-fat foods, fear of certain ingredients, and constant confusion about what was actually supportive for the body. Over time, that approach led to weight fluctuations and ongoing signs from my body that something wasn’t working.
Despite the confusion, I was always curious. I wanted to understand how food and lifestyle choices truly affected how the body functions and feels. That curiosity eventually led me to an approach that finally made sense: functional nutrition.
Before I ever had language for it, I saw the impact of this work in my own life. Simple dietary shifts resolved long-standing headaches. Later, during college, I struggled with chronic digestive issues that I assumed were just “normal” for me. With the guidance of a holistic practitioner, I began to understand that symptoms are not random—they’re meaningful signals. When the root causes are addressed, the body can move toward balance.
While earning my nursing degree, I had a pivotal moment that reshaped how I viewed food altogether. I began questioning not just calories or labels, but food quality, ingredients, and how heavily processed products affect the body. That moment sparked years of unlearning and a deeper appreciation for real, nourishing foods—many of which I had once believed were “bad.”
Seven years into my nursing career, I discovered functional nutrition by name, and it immediately aligned with what I had been searching for. Functional Nutrition, rooted in Functional Medicine, is guided by three core principles:
-
A strong therapeutic relationship between practitioner and client
-
A systems-based approach to the body
-
A focus on root causes rather than isolated symptoms or diagnoses
This framework honors the body’s complexity while offering a clear, practical path forward.
As a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor, I work with clients to identify underlying imbalances and support sustainable changes through food, lifestyle, and individualized guidance. My goal is to help clients feel informed, confident, and supported as they work toward better health.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition advice, managing ongoing symptoms, or looking for a more personalized and root-cause approach, I’d be honored to support you. I invite you to schedule a free consultation to see if working together is the right fit.
